Clutch Industries Pty Ltd and Drift Australia have announced a major sponsorship for the 2008 series.

Kevin Holmes, General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Clutch Industries said “This is an important agreement for Clutch Industries Pty Ltd, expanding our racing programs into the exciting Drift categories”.

The sponsorship is designed to achieve three benefits

• Reward high performing teams in both Drift Australia and Super Drift events.
• Advance clutch technology and the application of the new technology into racing and street programs. As with all our race programs and performance development, this series affords our organization an opportunity to test and develop products in high stress situations.
• Highlight the CI Performance Brand in the market. CI Performance is the umbrella Brand utilised by Clutch Industries Pty Ltd to market their performance clutch program. A program which incorporates RPM street performance clutch systems, 4Terrain 4WD performance clutch kits, as well as track series racing products and lightened flywheels.

In announcing the agreement Wayne Boatwright from Drift Australia said “Its great to have a company like Clutch Industries supporting the category. The company brings technical expertise, an advanced engineering and testing capability on shore and, as a manufacturer, CI can respond faster than anyone to the demands of race teams. It’s a great step forward for drift racing in Australia.”

Holmes went on the say that “Clutch Industries Pty Ltd is the only organization in Australia with a full suite of design, development and test facilities. When people get serious with performance, they get our technical division involved – it gives them an edge”.

What most people don’t realize is that Clutch Industries has been working behind the scenes in drift racing for years, including building alliances internationally, in preparation for this commitment. “While we are not at liberty to discuss propriety work conducted in racing programs, I can tell you that CI Performance will be the new standard and that this standard will be employed in the street versions available to the public.”
