Welcome to Clutch Industries

Another Quality Milestone reached by Clutch Industries

When Clutch Industries became independent from PBR Automotive, one of the first actions was to achieve accreditation to the ISO 9001 Quality Standard, the world’s most recognised manufacturing management standard.

This standard was achieved by Clutch Industries Pty Ltd in 2003. Achievement of the standard was an important milestone making CI the only clutch manufacturing operation in Australia that has been independently audited and certified to conform to ISO 9001:2000.

ISO 9001:2000 is a high standard, combining the three standards of 9001, 9002, and 9003 into one. For a manufacturer, just some of the requirements in ISO 9001:2000 include:

  • A detailed set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business
  • Monitoring of manufacturing processes to ensure the production of quality product
  • Continual monitoring (checking) of inwards goods and outgoing product
  • Regular review of individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness

The 2000 version sought to make a radical change in thinking by actually placing the concept of process management front and centre. ("Process management" was the monitoring and optimising of a company's tasks and activities, instead of just inspecting the final product.) Expectations of continual process improvement and tracking customer satisfaction were made explicit.

Design and development procedures are required if a company does in fact engage in the creation of new products. This is definitely the case with Clutch industries, which locally manufactures approx 70% of product it sells and has aggressively expanded the range of performance product engineered and manufactured in Australia.

Since the original certification, Clutch Industries has now passed a further 9 external quality audits. The audits are carried out by SAI Global, a world renowned Quality Assurance Accreditation Company.

This excellent record is due to the ongoing efforts of all the staff to adhere to and improve upon the requirements of our Quality system. Continually passing our external audits in turn drives improvement and inspires the confidence of customers and staff.

The Standards Mark presented on our packaging is a sign of quality and only licensed to companies that have met the rigorous requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard.

It’s a proven and instant way for consumers to recognise that our company is committed to meeting and maintaining world standards for quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
